Thus concludes my first cycle of bench press. My lifts were:

  • 8×135#
  • 7×145#
  • 6×150#

I ended up beating my planned lifts by an average of 21 pounds, so not bad for the bench press.

As for today’s workout, I planned to also do grip work, but my forearms, wrists and hands have been achey as hell so didn’t want to go there. For the incline benches and chest press, I PR’d. For the Tricep Pushdown, I matched my previous weight/reps and then jumped up to 50# but didn’t get all 8 reps.

Overall, I am starting to feel fairly achey and worn down. I think the deload should recharge me a bit. Looking forward to squats tomorrow.
